Hey y’all!  My name is Ashley Welton and I reside in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  I am originally from a small town on the eastern panhandle of West Virginia where I met and married my husband almost 14 years ago.  We have lived in Hawaii, Georgia and North Carolina over the past 9 years and have loved each and every moment of it.  I decided to go back to school at the age of 32 to achieve my goal of receiving my Bachelor of Art degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts. Dedication and the support of my husband got me through those long almost 4 years and I finally completed my goal in December 2017.
Besides graphic design, I love to have fun and live life to the fullest.  I also love photography, traveling, learning to cook new recipes, trying new restaurants, reading thrillers and cheesy romance novels, and being outdoors. One of my favorite hobbies is birding, which I have incorporated into my logo and branding design.
The type of design that I find attractive are designs that use lots of lines and circular shapes.  I also like to use neutral colors to my designs with a just a pop of color add so they are not overwhelming.  I have found that I also love to create fun illustrations and I may be interested in creating children’s books illustrations in the future. I strongly support nonprofit organizations and local businesses, especially those dealing with hunger, the homeless, environmental issues and animals.
Currently, I am a volunteer graphic designer for World Medical Relief, based in Southfield, Michigan. World Medical Relief declares its mission to impact the well-being of the medically impoverished on a local, national, and international basis. It collects financial donations and goods, including medical, dental, and laboratory items, purchases and distributes such commodities. Goods are reported to be distributed in a non-discriminatory manner without regard to race, color, gender, religion, nationality or political beliefs.  I am happy to be volunteering my services with such a great non-profit organization!
As of November 2018, I am now a volunteer graphic designer for Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, a local organization.  I will be creating their seasonal newsletter as well as other design projects that they will need.  I love that I get to help out a local organization for a place that I enjoy the outdoors from.
