Little Buffalo State Park
While staying with our friends in Pennsylvania, our travel bug hit hard. We’ve always enjoyed exploring state parks and we learned that Pennsylvania has 121 state parks. A short search brought us to Little Buffalo State Park which was only a short drive up the road.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cold December wind. Not letting the weather stop us, we decided to go for a short hike. Many songbirds accompanied us along on our hike. Shortly we came to a beautiful old covered bridge.
After finishing the photo shoot, we noticed an old grist mill and decided to check it out. Shoaff’s Mill was originally built in the 1800’s and was remodeled in the 1940’s. Visitors to Little Buffalo State Park can watch the mill in operation.
Continuing our hike we were intrigued by the very eclectic Christmas decorations placed around the park. Lights were also stringed alongside the trails.
Little Buffalo State Park includes a large lake, so we decided to check it out.
On top of the dam, the view of the lake was very nice. The wind was howling so we chose not to take any pictures.
Every year, Little Buffalo State Park is decorated nicely for Christmas. We highly recommend checking out this park in December, or any part of the year for that matter!
